Wizz Air and Prospect13 Marketing named headline sponsors of The Roof of Africa
Wizz Air and Prospect13 Marketing have been announced as headline sponsors of The Roof of Africa: Bullied – The Mountain We Face - a new documentary shining a light on the long-term impact of bullying, set against a Kilimanjaro challenge in support of Kidscape.
Produced by Bright Cause, the documentary centres on lived experience - exploring how childhood bullying shapes adult lives, and how shared purpose, challenge and community can support recovery, resilience and change.
A film about people, not just the peak
While Mount Kilimanjaro provides a striking backdrop, The Roof of Africa: Bullied – The Mountain We Face is fundamentally a human story.
The film follows participants from training in the UK through to summit night, capturing moments of vulnerability, strength and solidarity. Many of those taking part are drawing directly on their own experiences of bullying, using the climb as a powerful act of visibility and defiance — and to help ensure today’s children do not face those experiences alone.
By supporting the documentary, Wizz Air and Prospect13 Marketing are backing a film designed to extend the impact of the Kilimanjaro challenge far beyond the expedition itself.
Their support enables the production and distribution of The Roof of Africa: Bullied – The Mountain We Face, helping ensure these stories are told with care, integrity and reach - and that conversations about bullying, trauma and recovery continue long after the climb is complete.
Two versions of the documentary are currently in development:
A short film for submission to the Smiley Awards, and
A feature-length cut for a red-carpet premiere in autumn 2026.
Both versions aim to spark conversation, deepen understanding of the long-term impact of bullying, and support Kidscape’s mission to protect children from harm.
Lucy Black, Founder of Bright Cause, said:
“This film is about giving lived experience the space and respect it deserves. We’re incredibly grateful to Wizz Air and Prospect13 Marketing for backing The Roof of Africa: Bullied – The Mountain We Face and helping us bring these stories to a wider audience.”
Filming will take place throughout January and February 2026, with further updates, behind-the-scenes content and premiere details to be shared later this year.
Sponsorship opportunities remain available to support the production and distribution of the documentary. For more information, please contact lucy@brightcause.org.uk.
